In the Navy, sailors would hear “hold fast” as a command during storms, a reminder to tightly grasp the ship’s rigging against fierce waves. Life can sometimes mirror those turbulent seas, sweeping us into sudden challenges without warning. Yet, unlike those sailors, we have a steadfast anchor.

Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

So when life’s storms hit, remember to hold fast – not to a ship’s rigging but to the unshakable hand of God.
